Get into the swing of the season as the ATX Jazz Orchestra brings a stylish twist to a holiday classic! Join us for a special Midday Music concert featuring musicians from the acclaimed ensemble, offering an exclusive preview of their upcoming jazz ballet production of The Duke Ellington Nutcracker.

This noon-hour performance highlights Ellington and Billy Strayhorn’s iconic, jazz-infused reimagining of Tchaikovsky’s beloved score—blending big band sparkle, irresistible rhythms, and sophisticated holiday cheer. Guests will enjoy select movements from the full production, performed live in the intimate setting of the Draylen Mason Music Studio.

The complete jazz ballet will be presented later this month at Brazos Hall as a benefit for two local nonprofits: ATX Artists for Social Impact and Casa Marianella, supporting creative opportunity and community care in Austin.
