Panoramic Voices: LIGHT IT UP

Sunday, December 7 • Central Machine Works

Kick off your holiday season with an afternoon of music, merriment, and community! Panoramic Voices, Density512, and KMFA Classical 89.5 invite you to Light It Up—a joyful mash-up of community caroling, holiday trivia, and a full evening concert featuring 150 voices and incredible guest artists.

Whether you sing, play, hum, or simply love soaking up holiday cheer, this all-ages event has something for everyone. And yes—dogs are welcome too!

๐ŸŽถ COMMUNITY CAROLING — 3:30 PM

No rehearsals. No pressure. No rules—just joy.

Join voices and instruments of any skill level for a casual Christmas carol sing-and-play-along led by 150 singers from Panoramic Voices and supported by professional musicians from Density512.

We’ll have music packets for singers and instrumentalists (including transposed lines for F and Bb instruments), or feel free to follow your heart, improvise, or simply sing along.

๐ŸŽ„ HOLIDAY TRIVIA — 4:30 PM

Brush up on your Nutcracker knowledge! KMFA’s Guillermo Delgado will host a fast-paced holiday edition of his beloved Classical Music Trivia. Form a team, compete for fun prizes, and show off your seasonal smarts.

๐ŸŒŸ OPENING SET: SOUND COLLECTIVE — 5:30 PM

Help welcome Austin’s newest special-needs chorus, Sound Collective, as they take the stage for a heartwarming opening performance.

๐ŸŽค PANORAMIC VOICES & DENSITY512 PRESENT: “LIGHT IT UP” — 6:00 PM

For the first time, our caroling festival culminates in a full holiday concert—a pop-forward, sparkle-filled program featuring 150 voices and exceptional instrumentalists from Density512.

This year’s festive lineup sets the tone for our upcoming spring collaboration, “DIVAS.”

Come light up the night with us at one of Austin’s favorite local breweries.

Bonus: Santa will be making an appearance during the concert!

Presenter Details

  • Name: Panoramic Voices
  • Directed by Juli Orlandini, Panoramic Voices is an adventurous choral collective that thrives on a “music without borders” approach to music making. With collaborations spanning all genres from classical, country, rock, hip hop, and beyond, PV has worked with a dizzying array of artists such as Mobley, Roky Erickson, Carson McHone, Calliope Musicals, Zeale, and Grammy Award-winners Roomful of Teeth. The commissioning of new works has also been an important part of Panoramic Voice’s mission, resulting in the premiere of compositions by Pulitzer Prize-winner Caroline Shaw, Wilco’s Glenn Kotche, Austin luminary Graham Reynolds, and many more.

The ensemble has been widely recognized for its artistic endeavors, including “Best Choral Performance” from the Austin Critics’ Table, a cover story on Chorus America’s “The Voice” magazine, and regular listing among the Austin Chronicles “Top 10 Treasures.” In 2014, the Austin Chronicle dubbed Brent Baldwin (Panoramic Voice’s past Artistic Director) “Best Choral Wrangler” in its “Best of Austin” awards. The Austin American Statesman has hailed the group’s work as “always adventurous.”

In service to the greater Austin arts community, Panoramic Voices regularly partners with charitable organizations like the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM), SIMS, and Kids In a New Groove (KING) to provide support to the well-being of Austin artists.
