This week's show explores how 20th and 21st century composers have interacted with early music. We'll hear a range of examples including Carlos Chavez's arrangement of Buxtehude's Chaconne in E minor, Elam Rotem's contemporary motets written in the style of the early Italian Baroque, and Michael Nyman's adaptations of themes by Henry Purcell in film music. Our performers include Profeti della Quinta and Concerto Palatino.
