The Estes of Ferrara were renowned patrons of music, and welcomed some of the greatest singers and composers of the day to their court. We'll hear selections from Josquin's Missa Hercules Dux Ferrarie, which he wrote especially for Duke Ercole I d'Este, along with music by other composers associated with this illustrious cultural center like Dufay, Brumel, and Johannes Martini. Our performers include the Hilliard Ensemble and La Reverdie.
