Two new releases featuring Renaissance Women: one from our own time, harpsichordist Catalina Vicens playing Neapolitan music on the world's oldest playable harpsichord, and 16th century music associated with a convent in Ferrara, possibly written by Leonora d'Este.

  • From 'Il Cembalo di Partenope', featuring Catalina Vicens playing a Neapolitan harpsichord dating from c. 1525: Calata ala spagnola (Dalza), Ricerchare (Fogliano), Per dolor mi bagno el viso (Cara?).
  • From 'Lucrezia Borgia's Daughter', featuring Musica Secreta and Celestial Sirens: O beate Christi confessor, Angeli archangeli troni, Ave sanctissima Maria.
  • Played by Ms. Vicens: Tant que vivray (de Sermisy/ Veggio), Recercada di ma ca (Cavazzoni), Gagliarda napolitana (Valente).
  • Sung by Musica Secreta and Celestial Sirens: Haec dies quam fecit Dominus, Angelus Domini descendit.
  • Played by Ms. Vicens: Pavana alla ferrarese (Dalza), Chi la dirra (Willaert/Valente), Recercata del primo tono (Valente).
