LADY BIRD JOHNSON WILDFLOWER CENTER PRESENTS

FORTLANDIA

October 8, 2022 - January 29, 2023 | Wildflower Center

Fortlandia, our annual exhibition of secret hideouts, kicks off this fall in a new location — the Luci and Ian Family Garden. This year’s lineup of custom forts will transport you to imaginary worlds and spark an appreciation for art and nature. There will also be a bonus installation along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake, presented in partnership with The Trail Foundation

The group of six design firms and designers are, Cornerstone Architects, Studio Balcones, Austin Design Lab, multi-disciplinary artist Jamie Spinello, artist Alicia Philley, and architect and visual artist Agustina Rodriguez (a.k.a. Agi Miagi), whose fort will be constructed on Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake. All forts will be on display through January 2023.

Each themed and unique fort will inspire an appreciation of natural environments though its innovative and sustainable designs, materials, and construction, all while evoking childhood memories of play and wonder.
