Handel’s Messiah is one of the most beloved and well known large works in western music. Originally conceived as a work for Easter, it premiered during the Lent season of 1742. Part II covers the death of Christ and the third is focused on the Resurrection.
Celebrate the season with as Arts on Alexander presents two performances of the of the Passion and Resurrection - featuring the Redeemer Choir, soloists, and a 33-piece original-instrument orchestra. This concert is free and open to the public. No ticket required.

Arts on Alexander derives its origins from Redeemer Presbyterian Church’s Redeemer Artes, which has hosted choral and instrumental organizations, including the Texas Early Music Project, La Follia, Conspirare, Austin Baroque Orchestra, and numerous national and international musicians on its East Austin campus.
Arts on Alexander, as with its predecessor Redeemer Artes, seeks to provide a place where community development and artistic and cultural development can grow together.
