The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar (The Armadillo), an Austin holiday shopping icon for over 45 seasons, announces a new rendition of an Austin tradition, Armadillo Bazaar Outside is still the place for locals and visitors to buy art and artful gifts while enjoying live music.

Armadillo Bazaar Outside will offer a three-day in-person event December 17-19. To create a safe, family friendly fine-art scene, Armadillo Bazaar Outside will take place outdoors on the grounds of the Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Road, Austin, Texas 78704.

About The Armadillo:

The Armadillo Bazaar Outside continues to offer an elevated shopping experience. Known for the opportunity to personally meet and engage with local and touring artists amidst the spirited sounds of featured musicians and holiday cheer, The Armadillo will move to an open-air format for 2021. This season, attendees will experience a selection of curated artists bringing their best works to excite every art lover, collector, or first-time visitor including live local music, surrounded by the sites of the city, outdoors on the terrace.

With more than 100 artists to shop from, discover over 30 new artists alongside returning favorites, of which approximately half are from Texas and the other half from elsewhere across the country. 

ARTIST LINEUP

Musicians for Armadillo Bazaar Outside will include Ruthie Foster, Shinyribs, Gina Chavez, Jackie Venson, Tomar and the FCs and Carolyn Wonderland with Shelley King. With two bands a day beginning at 11am and 2:30pm daily, each performer will play two 45-minute sets.

For 45 seasons the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar has been a fine art shopping destination featuring national and local award-winning artists alongside live music in a festive, lively atmosphere. Traditionally, Armadillo Bazaar treats around 40,000 attendees to nearly 200 visual artists and makers showcasing their original work and bands ranging from breakout musicians, touring singer-songwriters and Austin legends playing the intimate Armadillo stage. During the 2020 pandemic, the Armadillo Art Concierge was created to continue the mission of Armadillo Christmas Bazaar by supporting arts and culture to help artists thrive until able to show their works in-person once again. 2021 will bring a new rendition of an old tradition with the Armadillo Bazaar Outside.
