Ten Thousand Villages of Austin will be holding their first Fair Trade Tent sale October 8-11. Come shop for jewelry, clothing, chocolates, home decor and more, all made by fair trade artisans from around the globe. All items are hand made and many are discounted! The event will take place outdoors with plenty of social distancing. All sales promote Ten Thousand Villages' mission of providing fair wages, safe working environments, and protecting our environment. Our Austin store story began on South Congress as a Holiday Fair Trade pop-up in December of 2003. So successful and well-received by the Austin community, a nonprofit board was formed, and the store fully opened February 2004 in the South Congress space next door to the iconic Continental Club. Our move in 2014 to our current Burnet Road location offers a beautiful central location to continue to grow as Austin Fair Trade leader! In 2019, we're 15 years strong, providing ethically sourced handcrafted global gifts, global-to-local events and celebrations, plus Fair Trade education to the greater Austin community.
