The Chamber Choir and Madrigal Singers from Acton-Boxborough Regional High School present a concert on Sunday, April 14 at St. Martin’s Ev Lutheran Church. Join us as we gather to welcome these high school students to Austin. The free concert is Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Martin’s Ev Lutheran Church, 606 W. 15th Street in Austin.

The students are visiting Texas on a performance tour that began with a concert in San Antonio. While on tour the Chamber Choir and Madrigal Singers will present a program of vocal music ranging from Renaissance to Classical to Modern. Selections will feature composers such as Lauridsen, Gjeilo, Hogan, Whitacre, Tallis, Morley, Pärt, Duruflé, Smiley, Quick & Guillaume, as well as South African and Haitian folksongs along with musical numbers from The Greatest Showman and Pippin. ABRHS vocal music students have toured nationally and internationally, performing in New York City, Italy, Quebec and Montreal, Costa Rica, California, and most recently in Spain and France.

  • Name: Acton-Boxborough Regional High School Chamber Choir & Madrigal Singers
  • Located in Acton, Massachusetts, Acton-Boxborough Regional High School is ranked among the top high schools in the state. There are over 200 students involved in the vocal program, which features four main choirs. The singers for the Chamber Choir and the Madrigal Singers are selected through a competitive audition process. The students study, rehearse and perform challenging vocal music from the early Renaissance to the 21st century. They regularly perform at school concerts, community events and music festivals.

    The students perform under the direction of Ms. Jennifer E. Moss. Ms. Moss is the Director of Choral Activities at ABRHS where she conducts four choirs, teaches courses in music theory and the history of rock and roll, and advises five after school A Cappella groups and the Music Production Club. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Voice from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Temple University. She has studied voice with Jon Humphrey, Paulina Stark and Robert Gartside, and choral conducting with E. Wayne Abercrombie, Alan Harler, Simon Carrington, Brian O’Connell ad Thomas Lloyd. Ms. Moss has been a conducting fellow at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and the Sarteano Choral Workshop in Tuscany, Italy. She has performed in the Festival Dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy under the direction of Donald Nally and with the Westminster Chamber Choir in Florence, Italy under Dr. Joe Miller.
