The ECR Concert Series presents the Violet Crown Flute Choir at 5 p.m. on Nov. 12, at 2200 Justin Lane. Featuring an unusual and beautiful sound, this large ensemble of flutes is a subgroup of the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble. Selections include the patriotic American Flute Salute, a charming setting of Simple Gifts, and Mussorgsky’s Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks. They’ll also present Jonathan Cohen’s delightful Flutes and Vegetables, plus some fun movie selections. Great for all ages, free admission with donations ($10 suggested) gratefully accepted at the door, plenty of free parking.
