Marketing Intern
POSITION OVERVIEW
The KMFA Marketing Intern will report to the Director of Marketing to assist with a variety of tasks aimed at promoting KMFA’s brand, programming, events, and community initiatives. This role provides students with experience in nonprofit marketing, branding strategies, and audience engagement specific to the classical music and arts sector
The Marketing Intern reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications. The internship commitment will total 120-150 hours (100-120 for summer), aligning with academic semesters in Austin for Fall, Spring, and Summer. Interns can expect to work approximately 10 hours per week with flexible scheduling and typical office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays for collaborative integration with the KMFA team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The internship program is structured to provide exposure to marketing strategies, brand development, and promotional techniques in a nonprofit environment:
- Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns across digital, print, and radio channels.
- Assist with content creation for promotional materials, newsletters, and event announcements.
- Conduct market research to identify audience interests, trends, and potential growth opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics for marketing campaigns to gauge effectiveness and impact.
- Aid in the creation and distribution of press releases, newsletters, and social media updates.
- Collaborate on branding initiatives, working with design and content teams to ensure brand consistency.
- Assist in maintaining KMFA’s digital archives, managing marketing collateral, and tracking campaign results.
- Other duties as assigned to support KMFA’s marketing objectives.
REQUIRED & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate student, currently enrolled in courses during the internship period.
- Availability to work in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays as needed.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Office 365, and basic design or content creation tools.
- Strong written and visual communication skills, with an eye for detail.
- Knowledge of marketing principles, branding, and digital content creation.
