The Program
The Musical Monuments concert will showcase the acclaimed Artisan String Quartet, featuring Patrice Calixte and Mariama Alcântara on violins, Bruce Williams on viola, and Douglas Harvey on cello. This exceptional ensemble is celebrated for their cohesive artistry and emotive performances, bringing both technical brilliance and deep musical expression to the stage.
The program will include Beethoven's Op. 18, No. 1 a masterpiece as well as Beethoven's first published String Quartet. They will also perform Joseph Bologne's String Quartet No. 1, and Borodin's String Quartet No. 2, famously known from the musical “Kismet” for its lush melodies and romantic character.
