In this season of new beginnings, we are thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration with Austin Soundwaves, showcasing a specially assembled trio on stage. Austin Soundwaves has tapped into its vast network of students, inviting them to audition for these distinctive ensemble. The committed staff at Soundwaves has been actively coaching these students, ensuring they are well-prepared for their upcoming performance. Each student will benefit from scholarship support provided by the long-standing Pearl Amster Memorial Endowment Fund. The senior ensemble will perform during the concert and the junior ensemble will perform during intermission with all ensemble members joining the ACO in the 1712 Overture. The concert begins with brass and percussion performing Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man. The ACO is set to perform Le Grand Tango with guest soloist Dr. Melissa Melendez on viola and will conclude the concert with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2.

The Austin Civic Orchestra fosters the transformative power of orchestral music through diverse, accessible concerts and innovative educational programs for the Greater Austin community.
The Austin Civic Orchestra (ACO) is a non-profit civic organization that has been around since 1977. The ACO is devoted to bringing high quality music to the community and providing a musical outlet for professional and non-professional musicians alike. The ACO performs six to eight concerts each season, all of which offer programming to suit a wide variety of musical tastes, from traditional classics to pops and most everything in between. Presented at assorted convenient locations in the Austin area, the relaxed atmosphere and affordable cost have proven appealing to this community. Our educational programs for youth and adults foster the appreciation of classical music.
