INVERSION DA CAPO PRESENTS
HEAR ME ROAR!
MARCH 1 & 2 | CENTRAL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Da Capo, meaning "from the head", is a professional ensemble dedicated to new music for treble voices directed by Katrina Saporsantos. Hear Me Roar! consists of music that amplifies, uplifts, and empowers voices that are often oppressed and silenced—especially of folks in the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, and countries suffering from the ravages of war. This concert will feature several newly commissioned works by composers who belong to the “silenced” communities this program holds space for, as well as the winning entry to the Sandra Fivecoat Memorial Composition Contest. This program also features percussionist Jordan Walsh, cellist Annette Eicker, and pianist Benjamin Dia.
Joining us as our Inversion Cares partner is Gender Unbound, a trans and intersex arts community organization proudly led by trans and intersex artists whose mission is to uplift and support transgender and intersex people in Central Texas. Audience members will have a chance to hear about the work Gender Unbound does, and how they can lend their support.

Presenter Details
- Name: Inversion Da Capo
Da Capo is a professional ensemble dedicated to new music for treble voices. Da Capo means literally "from the head" and this ensemble showcases thoughtful and provocative music while maintaining Inversion's mission of performing new music from primarily local composers—singing Austin's present and future, not Europe's past.
When it comes to music written for sopranos and altos, choral composers often resort to a particular style: soft and pretty. And with good reason! Treble voices do that very well. But they can also run the gamut of human expression in a way that pierces the soul. Da Capo aims to evoke the power and delicacy, the grit and gloss, the stoicism and passion of treble voices in harmony.
