Kids Recording Kids
About
Join KMFA hosts Brian Satterwhite and Judlyne Gibson for this year’s Kids Recording Kids, a week-long radio production summer camp for rising eighth and ninth grade students. Camp participants will have the opportunity to create radio spots, record live performances, and conduct interviews with local young musicians.
This year, KMFA will partner with Mother Falcon Music Lab, a collaborative songwriting camp based in Austin, TX. During the week, Kids Recording Kids campers will have the opportunity to interview and record Mother Falcon Music Lab campers, as well as young classical instrumentalists.
At the end of the week, campers will produce their own radio show, the Kids Recording Kids Showcase, which will be broadcast on air in September 2017.
Kids Recording Kids Campers will learn:
- on-air speaking techniques
- live recording skills
- radio interviewing skills
- editing and audio production techniques
Space is limited and only six applicants will be chosen to participate. The cost of the camp is $200 per camper. Payment will be collected after registration is confirmed. A limited number of scholarships are available. More information about scholarships can be found on the application form.
The 2017 Kids Recording Kids camp has concluded. Check back next Spring for 2018 camp information.
