KMFA and Sightlines are proud to present the New Music Mixer, a monthly happy hour series for classical music nerds and newbies alike at Friends and Allies Brewing. Join us at our next event for a conversation with featured ensemble Tetractys and two composers from their upcoming show New Works: Aaron Sanchez and Mack Felix Hoxie. Kick back, enjoy $1 off your pint, and geek out over your love of new music!

The presentation portion of the evening will begin at 6:00 p.m.

 

Parking:
If the main parking lot is full, additional parking is available behind the brewery. Turn in off of Springdale close to Airport at Dimension Gallery and go all the way back past Brothers Produce to the back lot. There is a paved walkway around the right side of the building to the front entrance.

Presenter Details

    Aaron Sanchez is a composer and a trombonist from San Antonio. He is a 5th year UT student pursuing a degree in Music Studies. He has studied trombone with Nathaniel Brickens and composition with Donald Grantham and Russell Podgorsek. He has had pieces performed at the TCU campus for the OneOne Senior Choreography Concert, in Queens for the Fertile Ground series, and at UT’s C.L.U.T.C.H. concert. He is also a co-director of “Not Just the Notes”, an organization that is dedicated to interdisciplinary-collaboration.

    Mack Felix Hoxie is a sophomore at Fusion Academy. His exploration of music composition began at age six, and now -- at the age of 16 -- he is a 3-year participant in the Golden Hornet Young Composers organization, as well as achieving All-State in both viola and choir over the past two years. He's also pursuing the art of languages and plans to continue his studies in various languages (such as Tagalog and Korean) to the point of fluency. His other interests include animation, creative writing, and music composition.
