They’ve been borrowing cups of sugar from each other for years; now they’ll improvise together! Improv 301 graduation – Our graduates from the lower-level program perform in their first show as a group and show off all their newly acquired improv skills playing improv games based on audience suggestion! Merlin Works is the brainchild of Shana Merlin: improviser, teacher, and performer. Since 1996, she’s been leading classes that stretch people’s imaginations, push them out of their comfort zones, and make them laugh out loud for hours at a time. In 2008, we opened the Merlin Works Institute for Improvisation, a school offering classes in shortform gameplay, improvised plays, and musical improv at the Salvage Vanguard Theater. Hundreds of students and classes later, Merlin Works lives at the ZACH Theatre on the shores of Lady Bird Lake. If you want to be part of the best improv school in Austin, come join us.
